About

A small embedded systems design company.

Island View Embedded Innovations Inc. has designed firmware, electronics and test systems for clients in energy, industrial and high reliability products since 2020. We are based in Calgary, Alberta and work across North America.

How we work

What you can expect

Whole product or a single piece

We can take a product from architecture through production test, or join an existing team to work on the firmware, the board or the test system. Both are common engagements.

Hardware and firmware together

Many embedded problems sit at the boundary between the schematic and the code. We work on both, which shortens debugging and produces designs that are easier to bring up and test.

Test is part of the design

Bring-up procedures, regression suites, hardware-in-the-loop rigs and production fixtures are planned at the start of a project. Automated test is what lets a small team ship reliable products.

Pragmatic about cost, quality and schedule

We give a clear view of the tradeoffs on each project. Prototypes are built quickly; the parts that go to production get the additional design and verification effort they need.
