Integration and prototyping
Prototyping is where the design is first tested as a whole. We build functional units to check assumptions, refine the design and demonstrate capability, bringing electronics, firmware and mechanics together into one system.
From components to functional prototypes
We manage prototype PCB assembly and carry out the first power-on, verifying each subsystem before connecting the whole. Aside from bare-PCB fabrication, we manage early stage prototypes at low volumes entirely in-house (down to and including 0201 passives and fine pitch BGA assemblies). This allows for rapid turnaround: a fresh board can move from the reflow oven directly to power-on and bring-up.
Electronics are integrated with enclosures, displays, sensors, cabling and actuators, firmware is loaded, and the prototype electronics can be rapidly validated for hand-off to firmware.
3D printing, quick-turn fabrication and in-house rework keep the loop between a design change and tested hardware short.
Test plans are written and executed against the key requirements and the findings feed into the next revision.
